IFComp 2014: HHH.exe   Leave a comment

HHH.exe starts with some graphics ripped from Hugo’s House of Horrors and makes a freestyle glitch-game from the remains.

This is one of those games where I think context matters. If I had encountered it randomly while browsing websites or even in a lighter competition like Shufflecomp I would probably enjoy the gag and move on. Trying to sit and judge means I have to grouse over the fact there wasn’t much there. Namely: dull, easy, puzzles; extra graphics ripped from Nethack and Might and Magic 3; and some mostly inane jokes.

I also got some sort of bug the first time through which made me unable to enter the labyrinth. A replay fixed the problem.
